2023 saw the first sizeable Indian contingent of transplant athletes participate in the World Transplant Games 2023 in Perth, Australia. 32 transplant athletes, 24 organ recipients and 8 organ donors traveled to Australia for the Games.

For many, this was their first trip outside the country, never mind at an international sporting event. But Team India's athletes rose to the occasion. Their enthusiasm, determination and commitment won both hearts and medals at the 2025 Games.
